The Aurifil Wellness Collection

 

I'm so thrilled to have recently qualified as a Wellness Coach, and I believe there's so much overlap between looking after our wellness and slowing down and working on some quilting or hand stitching. Taking time out to stitch for ourselves is so important for our mental health and wellbeing.  

So when the opportunity arose to collaborate with Aurifil thread to produce a thread collection, I jumped at the chance. 

I have curated a collection that is bright, colourful and reminiscent of Spring, to bring joy to your stitching!  This collection is perfect for hand stitching, quilting and embroidery.  So I wanted to share some of the projects that I've created using this uplifting collection.

First, I had great fun stitching up my foundation paper pieced Pride Butterfly pattern in colours that match with some of the threads. I pieced it with the 50 weight thread that is part of the Wellness Collection. 

I then used the 50 weight threads in different colours to add antenna to each butterfly. Then I added hand quilted detail to the wings. 

 

Finally, I wanted to choose a positive statement that I could embroider, and look at and feel inspired by.  I decided on 'Make Everyday Count' because I truly believe that every day should be lived to the full, and we mustn't waste a single day of our one precious life.  

I'm so thrilled with how it turned out!  This mini quilt was such a lovely way to showcase quilting and embroidery in the same piece. 

I wanted to experiment further with embroidery stitches and the 12 weight thread, and in keeping with the wellness theme, I thought I'd stitch a positive affirmation. 

I loved stitching with the felt and making this little positive affirmation card!  I definitely want to make more.  I can't wait to see your quilting and embroidery projects using my collection.  I hope it brings you as much joy as it's brought me.  Available in shops now. 💗
